Strong performance at yearend 2001 by CellaVision - Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen becomes new reference customer


Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark's leading hospital, has decided to buy CellaVision's DiffMaster(TM) Octavia. The system is already in use at Rigshospitalet, implying that the present manual process of classifying white blood cells is almost fully automated. DiffMaster is a system for automated digital image analysis and analysis of white blood cells.

"As one of the largest hospitals in the Nordic region, Copenhagen-based Rigshospitalet is a significant reference. The positive response that DiffMaster has received is important confirmation to us", says Yvonne Mårtensson, CEO, CellaVision AB.

"We are very positive to DiffMaster and the system offers an array of qualities that we value. We already foresee timesaving effects", says Bente Barrit Nielsen, Section Leader, Clinical Chemistry Laboratory, Rigshospitalet. "In addition this method of working facilitates distribution of knowledge within the organization and also offers many ergonomic advantages."

At the end of December CellaVision also delivered three new systems to German Sysmex and one to Korean Kormed. In addition a distribution agreement with regard to DiffMaster was signed with BioVendor in the Czech Republic.

"Negotiations regarding distribution on other markets outside Scandinavia and Germany are ongoing and we count on closing several deals during the first quarter in 2002", says Yvonne Mårtensson, CEO, CellaVision AB.

To sum up CellaVision sold a total of 10 systems in 2001.
