SAO PAULO, BRAZIL--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2012) - In less than one month, national experts in ethanol, oil and gas, bioenergy, and next generation biofuels will converge on São Paulo during the World Biofuels Markets Brazil conference and exhibition (www.worldbiofuelsmarkets.com/brazil) and the co-located Biomass Power Generation Brazil conference (www.worldbiofuelsmarkets.com/biopowerbrazil). Endorsed by UNICA, the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association, the conferences run 18-19 of September and will feature more than 400 Brazilian and International bioenergy leaders to discuss timely themes including aviation biofuels, oil majors' role in the industry, advanced ethanol production, agricultural sustainability, biochemicals and bioplastics, and alternative feedstocks.
The opening panel of the conference will feature four of the leading voices in Brazilian bioenergy including Bernardo Gradin, Chairman of GraalBio, Pedro Moura Costa, Founder and President of BVRio, Ozires Silva, Founder of Embraer, former President of Petrobras and Varig Airlines and Minister of State for Infrastructure of Brazil, and José Aníbal, Secretary of State for Energy, Government of the State of São Paulo.
During the two-day event the results from the first ever Brazilian Bioenergy Survey will be released and the Annual Brazilian Bioenergy Awards will be presented. The survey will provide insight and opinions from a range of industry stakeholders on the future of biofuels in Brazil, while the awards recognize excellence from across the bioenergy supply chain in Brazilian biofuels and biomass-to-power.
The co-located Biomass Power Generation Brazil conference will examine the potential of biomass-fired power and bioelectricity generation across Brazil. Biomass Power Generation Brazil will feature sessions investigating cogeneration feedstocks including sugarcane bagasse, energy crops and purpose grown biomass, wood-based biomass, and municipal solid waste.
Sessions during both conferences will be simultaneously translated between English and Portuguese. More information is available by following @wbmnews on Twitter, or by joining the LinkedIn World Biofuels Markets Brazil group.
