Slice Launches the Ultimate Shopping Companion for Android Tablets

Tablet-Optimized App Tracks Packages, Monitors Price Adjustments and Organizes Online Purchases

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 20, 2013) - Slice, the most effortless way to keep track of online purchases in one place, today announced its first tablet app, just in time for holiday shopping. The Android app features the package tracking, price alert capabilities and newly released recall monitoring that define Slice as the ultimate shopping companion, presented in a stunning interface optimized for tablet devices. The app's dashboard displays everything the user has purchased online in a catalog of large and easily browsable images, annotated with key product information including shipping statuses.

"Tablets have become an integral part of our shopping experiences, from browsing to purchasing and beyond," said Scott Brady, CEO of Slice. "With our tablet app, we're making it incredibly easy to keep track of what you buy across devices, and maintaining the simplicity and ease that users have told us they love about our smartphone and desktop apps."

Slice is a free app that syncs with a user's inbox to pull information from the electronic receipts buried inside, making sense of it all to save consumers time, money and energy. The Android tablet app includes:

  • Package tracking and shipping notifications: Slice automatically tracks en-route shipments and sends push notifications with delivery status updates and product descriptions. The tablet app features a particularly visual delivery section that tracks each package on a map in real time, with details including tracking number and carrier, estimated delivery time and a description of the items that are in the package.
  • Price Drop Alerts: Slice sends a push notification when a recently purchased item has dropped in price and the user is eligible for a partial refund.
  • Recall Alerts: Slice integrates with the Consumer Product Safety Commission API to match users' purchases with product recalls. When there is a match, Slice sends a push notification that links directly to the CPSC.gov recall page, providing users with details about the hazards and steps they can take.

Slice has processed more than 100 million items to date for a total purchase value of over $3.2 billion. Slice was listed in Lifehacker's best iPhone and Android apps of 2013, named one of the "Best Productivity Apps of 2012" and one of the "World's Greatest Apps" in 2013 by Business Insider and was selected as an Official Honoree in The 17th Annual Webby Awards in the Utilities & Services category. Slice is now available as a free app for Android tablets, Android phones, iPhones and the Web.
