Remarkable Story of a Young Man's Journey With Asperger's Syndrome Released Globally

Co-Authored by a College Student and His Mother, This Autobiography of Determination and Triumph Is a "Must Read" for Anyone Experiencing Hardship and Seeking Hope

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - February 12, 2015) - Expect a Miracle: A Mother/Son Asperger Journey of Determination and Triumph brilliantly reveals the life story of a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. It is co-authored by David Petrovic and his mother, Sandy Petrovic, with each of them presenting their own accounts of the same life events and developmental stages. Consequently, the reader is taken on an inspirational journey, experiencing life through both of their perspectives. This dual approach provides an exceptional opportunity for anyone affected to understand, and more importantly, appreciate a fulfilling life with Asperger's Syndrome.

From infancy to David's present college years, the reader is given a glimpse into the lives of Dave and his devoted family. The juxtaposition of levity and seriousness make this inspirational story a "must read" for parents, loved ones, professionals, and anyone experiencing learning differences or hardships. Every challenge, including bullying, is recounted along with every decision, intervention, and ultimate triumph that ensued. The authors continuously share ideas and lessons learned for anyone seeking hope.

According to Dave in the final chapter, "I hope that what you got out of this book is more than a story about a young man with several challenges. This book is not just for people with disabilities but for anyone, anywhere, going through any type of hardship. For anyone who struggles, or for those who just feel alone, I believe that through faith, hope, and perseverance, it is possible for one to take the steps to deal with hardship."

David is currently an involved and fulfilled college senior who lives on campus and is pursuing his dreams -- and his mother couldn't be prouder. Actively involved in public speaking, it is David's mission to help others conquer some of the battles he has encountered throughout his life. "I'll admit, it's not always easy being me, but I wouldn't have it any other way," he says. Expect a Miracle is available at (the publisher's book store), along with retailers including,, and eBook. About the Authors
Holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, with additional post-baccalaureate studies, Sandy has 20+ years of experience in critical care nursing (predominantly cardiac). In 2002, she changed her specialty to diabetes education, and she became a certified diabetes educator in 2006, working in that field until 2012. Despite Sandy's passion and dedication to the nursing profession, it was outshined by the unique responsibilities and privileges of mothering three sons. On recognizing that her youngest was challenged with developmental differences, Sandy became unwavering in her resolve to maximize his potential. Amassing knowledge and a team (both formal and informal), the mother and son journeyed together to break down barriers and facilitate David's learning and self-actualization.

Demonstrating their triumph, Dave is an optimistic and well-rounded college senior with many options before him. An education major, he aspires to teach language arts or social studies to middle school/junior high students, but he continues to discern the Catholic priesthood vocation. David performs in several theatre and choir venues and participates in campus ministry activities. He was voted onto the 2014 homecoming court, was inducted into the Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society, and is heading toward graduating cum laude. While Sandy has switched her focus to helping at the school for learning differences that Dave attended, David hopes to help people by sharing his life experiences via this book and public speaking.
