Terrestrial Energy Announces Appointment of Former Head of Advanced Nuclear of Westinghouse

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwired - July 21, 2015) - Terrestrial Energy announces that it has appointed Robin Rickman as Vice President of Corporate Development. Mr. Rickman joins Terrestrial Energy from Westinghouse Electric Company, where he was recently the Director of New Reactor Projects, which included its Small Modular Reactor program. Mr. Rickman has over 40 years of experience in the nuclear industry, spending equal amounts of time in the nuclear navy and the civilian nuclear power sector. Mr. Rickman brings a tremendous breadth of operational experience to Terrestrial Energy as the Company moves forward with its IMSR commercialization plan.

In the US Navy, Mr. Rickman held various management positions. He supervised the safe operation and maintenance of nuclear reactor plants and associated steam plant systems including supervision, inspection and testing of all nuclear systems on a new construction 688(I) class submarine. This experience is relevant to Terrestrial Energy's program of extensive IMSR components and systems testing, which begins within the next 12 months.

In the civilian power sector, Mr. Rickman has specialized in reactor maintenance as well as R&D, in various management roles. He was in charge of mechanical maintenance at Braidwood Nuclear Generating Station; He was Principal Technical Specialist and project-managed the development of several advanced nuclear projects at Idaho National Laboratory; Since 2007, he has had escalating management positions at Westinghouse Electric Company, in the areas of strategic project development, and most recently, being made Director of New Reactor Projects, including Westinghouse's Small Modular Reactor project. Mr. Rickman's 20 years' experience engaging with the international nuclear power supply chain is of increasing value as Terrestrial Energy commercializes its IMSR.

Mr. Rickman is a member of a number of industrial and institutional advisory boards and working groups, including the NEI SMR Working Group; he will continue in this capacity on behalf of Terrestrial Energy. Mr. Rickman received his nuclear training at the Naval Nuclear Power School.

Mr. Rickman joined Terrestrial Energy on July 1, 2015 as Vice President of Corporate Development. He will be assisting the Company with the development of strategic relationships with suppliers and customers. He brings strong experience and a large industry network to this important role.
