SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - August 26, 2015) - World Maker Faire, the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, announced today the program and speaker agenda for World Maker Faire New York, taking place at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, New York, the weekend of September 26-27, 2015. The roster includes up and coming makers who are pushing the envelope across a variety of industries as well as leaders who have been innovating and driving the Maker Movement from the start.
Program highlights include:
- Anouk Wipprecht, wearable designer, will speak about "creating the impossible" with fashion and wearables. Anouk will be joined by Francis Bitonti, wearable designer, and Julie Taraska, writer and fashion and technology specialist.
- Artists, builders, and designers François Delarozière, of La Machine, and Pierre Orefice with Manaus, will talk about their monumental mechanical structures and their unprecedented artistic project "Les Machines de l'île" which has been described as a place at the crossroads of Jules Verne's "invented worlds" and the mechanical universe of Leonardo da Vinci, located in the historic shipyards of Nantes, France.
- Jared Ficklin, veteran Maker, creative technologist, TED speaker, and music enthusiast, will share build tips and tricks for various Ruben's Tube and Flame Table and other cymatic makes.
- Danit Peleg, fashion designer, will discuss her first of its kind 3D printed fashion collection with Make:magazine's Mike Senese.

This year's program will include content for Makers of all ages, interests, and skill levels. There will be over 200 hands-on learning opportunities, interviews and panels, and presentations in which attendees can participate on such topics as fashion and wearables, robotics, Young Makers, health science and technologies, 3D printing, makerspaces, drones, education, electronics, and much more. In addition, the one-day MakerCon conference, held on Thursday, September 24, will specifically address getting projects from concept to market with best practices, wisdom, and know-how from experienced Makers who will share their stories and strategies.

Microsoft has joined World Maker Faire as a Goldsmith Sponsor for the first time, elevating their participation and demonstrating their commitment to the Maker Movement. In Microsoft's booth, Faire visitors will find all sorts of hands-on demos to experience making and get a first-hand look at the technology behind these projects. There will be a giant piano that attendees can jump on to play it; an LED curtain that can display an attendee's photo real-time; an opportunity to get a free 3D scan; and much more.
