Cold Brew Startup Experiences Explosive Growth and Builds Canada's First Coffee Brewery

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - October 28, 2015) - Toronto's original cold brew company has found a permanent home for Canada's first coffee brewery. Over the past 6 months Station Cold Brew has experienced rapid growth and needed a larger facility to accommodate the increased demand. Tucked in the Junction Triangle at 300 Campbell Avenue, the facility will allow the startup to scale production, develop new recipes and in time open a small retail bottle shop for customers. Station is now the largest cold brew coffee company in Canada.

"The junction triangle has a history of supporting independent businesses, so we feel lucky to call it home. Much like our neighbourhood, the beverage industry is in transition. Educated consumers are more conscious about what they put in their body, which is driving the change." Says Steve Ballantyne, founder of Station Cold Brew. "Our customers, like many Canadians are looking for beverages that are all-natural and taste great. From our brewery, we can do our part to serve the growing demand for these types of products."

The Cold Brew category has surged in the US over the past year with a 115% leap in sales. In the past six months, cold brew coffee has emerged as one of the hottest beverages in Toronto, being featured in Toronto Life and The Globe and Mail. Station is filling a gap in the wholesale market by distributing to grocery stores, bars, cafes, restaurants and offices. Since launch, they have quickly become the cold brew coffee leader in the GTA, while also becoming the first Toronto-based cold brew product on shelves at Whole Foods Market in Ontario.

You can find Station Cold Brew across the GTA at premium retailers like Whole Foods Market, Kupfert & Kim and McEwan's Fine Foods. Station has also partnered to fuel some of the most innovative offices such as Google, Twitter, Shopify and Mozilla.

About Station Cold Brew Coffee Co.

Station Cold Brew is Toronto's Original Cold Brew Coffee Company. The slow brew begins with fresh, locally roasted beans sourced responsibly through direct trade channels. A temperature-controlled system uses cold water and 18 hours of time, instead of heat, to slowly extract the flavours of the coffee. The result is a smooth, naturally sweet and rich coffee, with no bitterness and is up to 70% less acidic. Station's goal is to help change the beverage market by offering all-natural premium beverages to Canadians.

Station is sold in 5 varieties: 12.6 oz. Stubby, 32 oz. Concentrate, 5L bag in a box, 64 oz. Growler, and a 30L Keg for offices, bars and restaurants.
