HYAS Joins Super Angel Wesley Clover Portfolio

VICTORIA, BC--(Marketwired - February 18, 2016) -  Cybersecurity company HYAS Infosec Inc. has announced it has secured seed financing, led by high-tech investment management and holding firm Wesley Clover International.

Founded in 2014, HYAS' groundbreaking technology is poised to fundamentally change how the internet is used. HYAS (www.hyas.com) provides next-generation cloud-based cyber-threat intelligence and protection services for the OEM, enterprise, SMB and consumer markets. Current customers include some of the world's largest information security firms and Fortune 500 companies.

Based in Ottawa, Canada, Wesley Clover International (www.wesleyclover.com) is a serial 'super angel', that participates globally in early to late stage financing for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) startups. Chairman Sir Terry Matthews, an icon of the Canadian technology industry, has founded or funded over 100 firms to date. His current portfolio includes companies providing cloud and SaaS applications, cyber security, hardware and services for fixed/mobile communications, video collaboration, customer engagement, and analytics. The company has offices in Canada, the US, Europe, the Middle East, Mexico and South East Asia.

HYAS provides two core cyber security services designed to offer cyber-threat protection without touching customers' computer systems:

• Saturna DNS is an online protection system and threat ranking technology for OEMs and enterprises customers. Its foundational analytics ranking technology adapts to threats and domain changes instantly, significantly improving the performance of every other information security solution available.
• Borderless Internet is a consumer and SMB-focused online threat protection service that shields customers from threats including phishing, malware, and online advertisements that can hinder privacy and deliver malicious code.

These products are based on Comox, a deep analysis threat intelligence platform based on HYAS' proprietary historical database containing billions of Internet domains, addresses and malware samples.

HYAS will use the funding to increase R&D investment, as well as further market development activities, said founder and chief technologist Chris Davis. Davis has extensive experience in the cybersecurity industry. He was also named one of Microsoft's Global Heroes and is one of only three civilians to receive the FBI Director's Award of Excellence.
