Zoom Announces Rapid Adoption and High Customer Satisfaction in Education Sector

Video Conferencing Leader Holds Net Promoter Score of 71 Among Education Users

SAN JOSE, CA --(Marketwired - March 15, 2016) - Zoom Video Communications, Inc., a leading provider of video communications services, today announced deep inroads into the US higher education market, with customers in 86% of top 200 national universities (as listed in US News and World Report).

This deep market penetration can be attributed in part to high customer satisfaction among Zoom's education users. In a February 2016 TechValidate survey of educators and school administrators who use Zoom, 95% were likely to recommend Zoom to a friend or colleague, giving Zoom a net promoter score (NPS) of 71. These educators gave Zoom overwhelmingly strong marks, with 95% of respondents also stating that Zoom is superior or far superior versus competitors in terms of quality, ease of use, and reliability.

Zoom's fast adoption in the higher education sector can also be attributed to the high value of video conferencing among these institutions, with 74% of survey respondents believing that video conferencing will reduce dropout rates, and 88% of respondents believing that video conferencing will allow more people to complete advanced degrees.

Zoom expects the upward trend to continue as 87% of respondents plan to increase or significantly increase their investment in online collaboration tools over the next five years.

"Our NPS of 71 is the result of long-term collaboration with our valued education customers. We have worked closely with schools since day one to make sure that we have the features educators need, such as video breakout rooms, co-annotation, remote control, recording, and LMS integration," said Eric S. Yuan, Founder and CEO of Zoom. "We will continue to perfect the Zoom experience for faculty, students, and staff at schools around the world."

"Zoom is the best and most cost-effective, reliable, and functional software-based video conferencing solution I have seen. It allows us to open up the classroom to an extent that was never possible in the hardware-intensive video conferencing environment of yesteryear. It also offers great options for synchronous activities in online classes," said Dave Giberson, Instructional Design Coordinator for the San Diego Community College District.

"A faculty member called Zoom transformative, and I tend to agree. We are able to reach more students, have better discussions, and extend the impact of our university. Physically coming to a university is expensive -- from renting a place to live to paying for parking on campus. Providing synchronous learning experiences through video conferencing allows us to reach students that may otherwise not be able to afford to come to a resident college. Reaching that population is incredibly important to us," said Michael GriffithDirector, Instructional & Learning Technology at the University of Arizona College of Education.
