Zoom Names VMware CIO Bask Iyer as Newest Advisor

Iyer Brings Deep Enterprise Technology Expertise to Video Conferencing Leader

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - May 02, 2016) - Zoom Video Communications, Inc. today announced that it has added Bask Iyer, CIO of VMware, as a business advisor to the leadership team. Iyer will help Zoom scale its enterprise services with his extensive knowledge of the collaboration needs of large companies.

Bask Iyer serves as VMware's senior vice president and CIO, leading the company's global information and technology organization. A respected industry veteran, Iyer brings more than 25 years of experience in traditional Fortune 100 manufacturing companies and high technology firms such as Juniper Networks, Honeywell, and GlaxoSmithKline Beecham.

"I am proud to join the Zoom team as an advisor," said Iyer. "I know how important collaboration tools are to enterprise corporations and how difficult it is to build a truly great video conferencing platform, even though the market is crowded with imitators. I had been in constant search of a video conferencing solution that actually works, and had little luck before I found Zoom. I look forward to helping Zoom take it to the next stage of growth."

"Bask has actually been providing valuable advice to me as a friend for some time now, so I'm pleased we can make it official with an advisory position," said Eric S. Yuan, Founder and CEO of Zoom. "Bask's background as an enterprise CIO working in cloud virtualization, networking, and virtualized applications allows him to provide us with insights on what enterprise companies need in their collaboration tools, helping us to create the best user experiences for these customers and grow Zoom's market presence."
