Nucleus Medical Media's Animations Recognized by AMI

Nucleus receives awards at the 2016 Association of Medical Illustrators Salon

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - July 27, 2016) - Nucleus Medical Media, Inc., was recently recognized at the 2016 Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) meeting in Atlanta, receiving three awards for the company's medical animations. Each year, the AMI Salon showcases hundreds of the finest medical illustrations and animations from students and professionals around the world.

Two animations, "Innate Lymphoid Cells" and "Acton Topical Delivery System", each received the Award of Excellence, the highest honor. Another animation, "Eukaryotic Cell Organelles", received an Award of Merit. Entries are judged on quality and accuracy.

The "Innate Lymphoid Cells" animation was created for Nature, a scientific journal. The animation discusses a recently discovered type of lymphocytes, called innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), and how it maintains tissue homeostasis.

"Acton Topical Delivery System" was created for Aplion Medical Corporation. Acton is a medical device used for wound treatment.

The "Eukaryotic Cell Organelles" animation is part of a series of biology animations that will be completed in 2017. The biology animations are written by high school science teachers to conform to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Grades 9 - 12.

"It is an honor to call all the talented people at Nucleus Medical Media my co-workers," said Nucleus co-founder and CEO, Ron Collins. "I am grateful to the AMI Salon judges for selecting these animations from the many other excellent works at AMI 2016."

Credit for these awards goes to the hard-working Nucleus team, including animators Stephen Boyd, Erin Frederikson, Nobles Green II, Hoc Kho, Elizabeth McDonald, Heidi Sinsel, and Eric Small; and writers Mary Beth Clough, Mike Gleason, Leslie Leonard, and Joanne Jezequel.

The Association of Medical Illustrators is an organization comprised of over 800 members across four continents. Medical illustrators are professional artists with advanced educations who work to transform complex information into visual images. Nucleus Medical Media currently employs 18 medical illustrators.
