100 Accessible Bus Routes; Over 1,000 Accessible Buses

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, News Editor, Travel/Tourism Editor, Transportation Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2007) - The TTC is pleased to introduce the 100th accessible bus route to its surface routes. Starting on Sunday, April 1, the 82 Rosedale bus route will be wheelchair and scooter friendly.

Now 100 out of 166 TTC bus routes are accessible.

The Rosedale route will be served by low-floor, kneeling buses equipped with a flip-ramp. These buses can be identified by blue lights on either side of the front destination sign, and the blue international wheelchair symbol displayed above the front right bumper next to the entrance door.

All fully accessible buses include two wheelchair/scooter positions. The TTC has over 1000 accessible buses in its fleet - and more are coming!
