10gen Hires Kamal Brar as Asia Pacific General Manager


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jul 29, 2013) - 10gen, the MongoDB company, today announced the appointment of Kamal Brar as General Manager of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Formerly the Lead of MySQL's APAC division, Kamal will lead 10gen's expansion within APAC, with responsibilities including building a broad channel across the region. He will be based in Singapore.

Under his leadership and together with his global team, Kamal grew MySQL to over $25M USD in sales across Asia over a five-year period. Prior to MySQL, Kamal helped build start-up OuterBay Technologies, a provider of archiving software for enterprise applications and databases, which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2006.

Prior to his successful leadership role at MySQL and OuterBay Technologies, Kamal held various sales and consulting positions with Oracle in APAC, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Previously, he managed ACS Network, Design and Support for Optus Internet, and led support delivery for the Australian Business Telephone Company (ABTC).
