11 Charges Laid Under the Ontario SPCA Act, in Hybrid Turkey Case


KITCHENER, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 3, 2014) - In June, 2014, the Ontario SPCA laid 11 charges under the Ontario SPCA Act in a case involving the company Hybrid Turkeys and five employees.

This investigation was conducted jointly with the Ontario Provincial Police, in relation to suspected animal cruelty.
First appearance will be held on August 13, 2014 in the Woodstock Provincial Offences court.

"Animals are protected under the Ontario SPCA Act when it comes to neglect, abuse and cruelty. The Ontario SPCA takes alleged animal cruelty reports very seriously," said Chief Inspector Connie Mallory.
