18 Wheels of Christmas Lands at the Food Bank

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 16, 2010) - Twas the week before Christmas and all through our town, Calgarians were helping to beat hunger down.

Once again, participating members of the transportation industry have collected donations for the Calgary Food Bank. Last year, Santa delivered more than $40,000 worth of food and funds to help feed hungry Calgarians.

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, So up to the dock door the trailer will roll, With a load full of food, and a driver so droll.

This Friday, Santa returns to make another special delivery to the Food Bank in his 53 foot specially designed 18-Wheels-of-Christmas trailer! Decked out in Christmas lights, and driven by Santa himself, we will be unloading donations of non-perishable food at the Calgary Food Bank.

Spearheaded by Rosenau Transport, 18 Wheels of Christmas was conceived in 2002, giving the Global Transportation Community a way to give something back to the communities in which they live and work. By the time it arrives at the Calgary Food Bank, 18 Wheels of Christmas will have covered many miles of hope, having stopped to collect donations along its route, leading the way by example.

The media is invited to catch the magic.
