2 chix -- Hip Maternity Line Offers New Items for Mother's Day

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 2, 2006 -- With more than 4 million babies born in the US each year, it is obvious why Mother's Day is one of the most popular holidays of the year. But what does one give the pregnant mom who has not yet delivered? 2 chix, the fashionable line of maternity wear, has ideal gifts for the mom-to-be for her holiday. The soft, vintage-style T-shirts, which are popular among expectant Hollywood moms, feature such fitting phrases as, "Let the Love Grow," which was worn by Angelina Jolie, and is now available in black T-shirt or tank styles. Other new items feature, "Who's Your Daddy?" in olive green with lavender writing and the "What's Kickin'" tank now available in aqua with black lettering. The "chix" also offer popular tie-dyed tanks that are perfect transition-wear for both the pregnancy and post-pregnancy. This collection is available in shades of azure blue, passion pink and grassy green. Each T-shirt from the 2 chix collection comes in its own little drawstring bag, making it perfect for gift giving.

The 2 chix co-founders, Amy Bright and Natasha Koudsi, have been influential in the trendy maternity wear market since 2004, but they have been further inspired in creating their line since both are now pregnant. "Mother's Day is going to be really special this year, since I am a mama-to-be and Natasha is due on May 7th," said Bright, who is due on July 13. "We couldn't have planned it this way, but now we can really empathize with our customers," added Koudsi.

With Father's Day on the heels of Mother's Day, fathers-to-be can also be recognized with the new "daddy™ by 2 chix line." This new collection celebrates "the man behind the belly," with T-shirts sporting such phrases as, "I'm The Milkman," " My Boys Can Swim," "Look What I Did," "Bullseye," and "He Shoots. He Scores." The T-shirts are available in a new olive color, along with green, navy and white.

Along with Angelina Jolie, other famous moms that have worn the line include Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Brooke Shields and Melissa Joan Hart, who wore the "What's Kickin'" tank on E!'s "Hollywood Baby Boom." Their first celeb endorsement came after a pregnant Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC's "The View" wore the "What's Kickin'" T-shirt on ABC TV. Items from the line can be purchased for Mother's Day and any other occasion, at upscale baby boutiques across the nation, online at or by calling 877-896-2449.
