2005 World Masters Games to Visit Red Deer

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 11, 2005) - One thing all
Canadian cities have in common is the love for sport. In 2005, Canada
will once again be the host country to a major international sports
event - the 6th World Masters Games - to be held July 22 - 31, 2005 in
Edmonton.

The Edmonton 2005 World Masters Games Local Organization invites media
to a special presentation being hosted in your community on:



Wednesday, March 16
12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m.
Collicutt Centre, Room A/B, Second Floor
3031 - 30 Avenue, Red Deer


Nicole Poirier, Sport Director of the Edmonton 2005 World Masters Games,
will give an overview of the Games. Red Deer's sport and recreation
community, and local Masters athletes will be attending. The public is
also welcome to attend.

The World Masters Games are the largest international multi-sport event.
Edmonton is getting set to host 16,000 recreational and elite athletes,
25 years of age and up, from as many as 100 different countries, to
compete in 27 sporting events, over 10 days ... celebrating sport for
life.

Edmonton looks forward to welcoming citizens of Red Deer to the Games
this summer.
