2007 Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA) National Conference: Our Changing Communities

COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 12, 2007) -

Attention: Business Editors; Consumer / Lifestyle

MARKETING RESEARCH AND INTELLIGENCE ASSOCIATION (MRIA) will be holding a two day symposium with close to 400 of Canada's finest marketing research professionals in attendance, providing new insights about the changing communities in which we live. Canadians live in a country with the broadest range of regional and ethnic diversity, evolving lifestyles, global relations, and new levels of electronic connectedness.

Gordon Cressy, President of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund (Canada) will deliver the keynote address. He has 30 years of leadership with noted charitable organizations such as the Canadian Tire Foundation, United Way of Greater Toronto and YMCA Canada. Gordon will reflect on his experiences and share his knowledge with the research community.

Gordon will also moderate a panel discussion entitled "the Winds of Change", where knowledge experts examine how their markets are changing, share their insights and encourage research professionals to seek innovative methodologies. Among the panellists are John Evanson, Store Director, HBC; Marc Gregoire, Director Visitor Experience Branch for Parks Canada; and Scott Mullin, Vice President, Government and Community Relations, TD Bank Financial Group, Toronto.

To understand our Canadian landscape there also needs to be a larger international perspective and Doug Miller, President of GlobeScan Inc. will provide this insight with his discussion on corporate social responsibility, sustainability, green marketing, and the overall roles of Canadian research professionals on the global stage.
