2009 Bulldog Awards Reward the PR Campaign Qualities That Journalists Admire Most

Announcing the 2009 Bulldog Award for Excellence in Media Relations and Publicity

OAKLAND, CA--(Marketwire - November 24, 2008) - PR and marketing professionals who want the recognition they and their company deserve for brains, creativity and street smarts in media relations have a new chance to earn the most prestigious award in the PR profession. The 2009 Bulldog Awards for Excellence in Media Relations and Publicity is the only competition judged exclusively by working journalists. Bulldog Reporter's publisher Jim Sinkinson notes that "PR professionals tell us that because this program is journalist judged, winning a Bulldog Award is one of the highest honors they can receive. One PR pro told me her gold award was the pinnacle of her career."

This year's 2009 Bulldog Awards judges include:

-- Chris Elliot, Reporter, Travel Columnist, The New York Times

-- Bill Newcott, Features Editor, AARP The Magazine

-- Meghan Collins-Sullivan, Deputy Online Editor,

-- Kate Carlisle, Managing Editor-Washington, LATWP News Service, The Washington Post

-- Evan Cooper, Senior Managing Editor/Online Editorial Director, InvestmentNews

-- David Satterfield, Managing Editor, San Jose Mercury News

The Bulldog Award winners will be announced through all Bulldog Reporter publications, industry press releases and will be honored before top PR professionals at the Bulldog Awards dinner at the Media Relations 2009 Summit in New York on May 18.

Case studies of winning campaigns will be featured in 2009 Bulldog Awards Hall of Fame, a widely distributed and downloadable magazine. In addition, select awarded campaigns will also be chronicled in Bulldog Reporter's Winning PR Campaigns e-newsletter and in Bulldog Reporter's Daily 'Dog journal, both of which are distributed to more than 40,000 PR professionals.

Winners will be presented with a gold, silver, or bronze award for each of the 28 categories, along with the "Best Media Campaign of the Year" award for the grand prize winner. Submitting a campaign in more than one category is permitted, and the application process involves a brief 2-3 page description of the campaign and at least one clip of the media coverage attained.
