2010 Storage Visions Conference Announces Storage Visions Award Winners
Record Attendance at 9th Annual Conference
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - January 7, 2010) - The Ninth Annual Storage Visions Conference
(partner program to the 2010 International CES) awards were presented
before a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Riviera Hotel Convention
Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The awards recognized companies advancing the
state of the art in storage technologies utilized in consumer electronics,
the media and entertainment industries, and visionary products for the
digital content value chain.
-- The awards included the Fourth Storage Visions Art of Storage award,
recognizing a product for its best-in-class aesthetics, ease of use and
industrial design. The winner of the 2010 Art of Storage award was
Verbatim's Insight portable hard disk drive
Visionary Products Category:
-- Toshiba's 64 Gb SDXC Memory card was awarded the Mobile Consumer
Electronics Storage award.
-- The Home Consumer Electronics Storage award was won by the Micron RealSSD
C300.
-- The award for Integrated Home Entertainment went to Seagate Technology
for their FreeAgend Theater+.
-- The award for Professional Media and Entertainment System went to the
Nethra Fastpipe Server Storage IO System.
-- The award for Professional Media and Entertainment Storage was given to
Spectra Logic T-Finity storage series.
Visionary Company Awards:
-- Intel was given the Visionary Mobile Consumer Electronics Company award
for low cost storage for storage products used in mobile computer
applications.
-- Marvell was given the Visionary Home Consumer Electronics Company award
for the Plug Computing Initiative.
-- The award for Visionary Media and Entertainment Company went to Avid for
storage products supporting professional media and entertainment
applications.
-- The Visionary Service and Support Company award went to IoSafe for Novel
Disaster Recovery Solutions.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists of the 2010 Storage
Visions Awards and thanks to all the companies that submitted products, as
well as the award judges. The choice of winners of the various awards was
difficult due to the excellent quality of the submissions.
