2011 Edition of the Star's Christmas Trees: An Excellent Crop!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 30, 2011) - With the return of festivities surrounding Old Montreal's Extravaganza, Marché Bonsecours will come to life with the presence of personalities idolized by the public during its yearly Star's Christmas Trees event. Today, event organizers are announcing the Media event scheduled to be held at the Vieux-Montréal room of Marché Bonsecours on Thursday, December 8, starting at 5:00 P.M., where the 2011 guest list will be unveiled in the presence of all famous participants.

Where the stars meet!

Part of its program schedule from December 9 to 31, is the Star's Christmas Trees exhibit which has attracted Quebec personalities since 2008, thus contributing to the growing success of this event that has now become a December must-see. Giving way to the creative genius of celebrities from distinctive backgrounds - sports, music and literature - the Alouettes, Maxime Landry and famous author Yves Beauchemin will be among the personalities attending this celebration. Come join us and be the judge of the original results. Officially available to the public as of Friday, December 9, the Star's Christmas Trees exhibit will adorn the various aisles of Marché Bonsecours until Saturday, December 31, 2011.

A time for sharing!

Like every year, all ornaments will be donated to a charitable organization chosen by each participant at the end of the event. Often considered as novelty objects for Christmas trees, many of these objects will be reused and appreciated by many organizations in need.

New this year - The international village of Christmas traditions*

More beautiful than ever, Place Jacques-Cartier will boast an Alsatian flair by welcoming its very first Christmas Village. In December, Old Montreal will be decked-out with beautiful Alsatian decorations, while also featuring fifteen or so pavilions packed with treasures of all sorts and pleasures for the pallet. In keeping with European tradition, chalets will illuminate the premises with their bright lights and unique character. A most appreciated novelty allowing the public to discover an array of Christmas traditions, a wide variety of gourmet products, sampling of regional specialities and loads of exhibits and workshops from the Alsatian region - the guest of honour for 2011. Austria, Germany, Russia and Quebec will also be represented!
