2011 Winners Announced for Betting and Gaming Industry Awards Ceremony

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - March 30, 2011) - Betview magazine announced the winners of its 2011 Betview Awards last night at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane. The awards honour and recognise industry professionals on their exemplary achievement, ingenuity, creativity and overall hard work within the UK and ROI betting and gaming industry.

Over 700 guests at this year's awards were amazed as they entered the Great Room at the Grosvenor and found this vast space transformed into a rugby stadium – the theme for the evening in anticipation of the forthcoming Rugby World Cup, complete with real turf and rugby posts. The event was once again hosted by former championship jockey and sports broadcaster Clare Balding – as well as England rugby star and World Cup winner Will Greenwood MBE.

A record number of entries were submitted for the 2011 awards ceremony by leading professionals in the industry and the Betview Award 2011 finalists and winners were selected through a stringent judging process.

"All our winners represent the very best that the British and Irish betting industry has to offer - excellence in customer service and social responsibility coupled with tremendous business acumen and innovative thinking," said Justin O'Regan, editor of Betview Magazine. There were thirteen winners that were rewarded for their achievements in the betting and gaming industry in the UK and ROI.

1.   Manager of the year – Awarded to the person who best demonstrates all round excellence in running his/her business

2.   Team of the Year - Awarded to the team which clearly demonstrates that they work together for the common goal of the business

3.   Independent Outlet of the Year - Awarded to independents who demonstrate flair, consistency and all-round business excellence
      • Jem Racing, Poole
       
4.   Chain of the Year – more than 20 outlets- Awarded to the chain with more than 20 outlets who show consistency of the brand across all outlets and which enhance the betting experience
      • Coral
       
5.   Chain of the Year –20 outlets or less - Awarded to the chain with 20 outlets or less which show consistency of the brand across all outlets and who enhance the betting experience

6.   Newcomer of the Year - Awarded to the company which has made the greatest impact since launch
      • Just A Bet
       
7.   Most Creative Marketing Campaign - Awarded for the project or initiative which has engaged potential customers the most

8.   Best Designed Outlet of the Year - Presented to the company which has created the most welcoming and well-designed outlet

9.   On-Course Betting Operator of the Year – Awarded to the individual who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the betting experience at track and course level.

10.   Online Company of the Year - Awarded to the online company which has created the most innovative and easy-to-use online betting experience

11.   Racecourse of the Year – Awarded by the industry in providing the best experience for the betting and racing public

12.   Bookmaker of the Year - The ultimate accolade, this is awarded to the bookmaker who has demonstrated all-round excellence

Every year, Betview magazine also presents a special Betview Award to an industry figure in recognition of their contribution to betting and gaming in the UK and Ireland. This year the Betview Award for Recognition of Industry Contribution was awarded posthumously to Chris O'Keeffe, Chief Executive of IBAS, The Independent Betting Adjudication Service.
