The 2014 ASSEMBLY Show Educational Program to Include a Keynote Presentation, Half Day Workshops, and Exhibit Hall Seminar Series

ROSEMONT, IL--(Marketwired - Jul 31, 2014) - In addition to the expansive exhibit hall, attendees at the upcoming ASSEMBLY Show will have the unique opportunity to hear industry experts discuss the latest technological advances and manufacturing trends during a dynamic keynote presentation, two half day workshops and a series of seminars in Showcase Theaters on the show floor. The ASSEMBLY Show will take place from Tuesday, October 28, through Thursday, October 30, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

"We developed a dynamic educational program to keep our attendees current on trends, advancements and the future of assembly," stated Tom Esposito, publisher of ASSEMBLY magazine. "We are pleased to be expanding our program this year: For the first time, we are offering two pre-show workshops on plastics and design. Plus we'll once again have a top-notch keynote presentation and showcase theater presentations." The two half day workshops on Tuesday, October 28, will run from 2:00 - 5:00 pm and will focus on:

Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) Workshop: Boothroyd Dewhurst, originator of the popular DFMA software, has organized a workshop which will show attendees how to analyze and reduce the cost of designs. Presenters from Dynisco Instruments LLC and Boothroyd Dewhurst Inc. will share details on how to lower manufacturing costs through good design.

Plastics Assembly Workshop - A group of industry experts will present on a series of topics related to plastics assembly. During this four-part workshop, topics will include The Dish on Hot-Plate Welding; Improving Plastic Assemblies with Inserts and Compression Limiters; Snap Fits for Plastics Assembly and Selecting the Proper Assembly Method for Your Plastic Application.

On Wednesday, October 29, and Thursday, October 30, there will be a dozen seminars, including presentations on:

In addition to the seminar series and half day workshops, there will be a keynote presentation on Wednesday, October 29, at 9 a.m. featuring Timothy J. Hutzel, president of Tim Hutzel Advisory Board Services, and David Lippert, president of Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co. Their presentation, Bringing Jobs Back to the USA: Rebuilding America's Manufacturing Through Reshoring, will relate how American companies can survive and prosper while keeping their manufacturing base within the United States.
