SAN CLEMENTE, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 19, 2014) - U.S. and Canadian homebuilders who provided their customers with the best purchase and ownership experiences -- according to surveyed homebuyers -- have been honored in the 2014 Eliant Homebuyers' Choice Awards competition.
The winning builders were chosen based on the results of more than 76,500 surveys which were administered in 2013 to all recent home owners from over 148 major homebuilders across the U.S. and Canada. A total of 45 different builders were recognized for their excellence in one or more customer-experience categories. Builders with exceptional levels of customer satisfaction included: William Lyon Homes (California, 13 awards); The New Home Company (California, 9 awards); Robson Communities, Brookfield Residential, GL Homes, and Ryland Homes also distinguished themselves (7 awards).
MBK Homes (California) was voted by homeowners as the top-rated single-division builder in North America. In the Medium Builder segment, MBK Homes was honored with 5 "Premier Awards" (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place in each category) for Purchase Experience, Construction Experience, Overall Quality and First Year Customer Service.
The New Home Company (California) earned the top rating of all multi-divisional home builders for the second year in a row and received a total of 9 Homebuyers' Choice Awards.
The Olson Company (California) continued its strong performance among Large Builders with impressive No. 1 rankings for Overall First-Year Quality and The First-Year Customer Service Experience, and came in second place for Best Overall Customer Experience (Single-division segment).
In the all-important category of "Percent of Sales from Referrals," GL Homes of Florida (Palm Beach Active Adult) was ranked No. 1 with 50.0% of its sales from referrals. Grand Homes - Dallas South, Classic Homes (Colorado Springs) also sold unusually strong sales from referrals.
