2015 Filmmakers Master Class and New Filmmaking Portal on B&H's Explora Blog

In Conjunction With the Ongoing 2015 Filmmakers Master Class Sponsored by Canon USA, B&H Photo Announces the Launch of a New Filmmakers Web Portal on the Explora Blog, Providing News, Education Pieces, and Reviews on Everything Related to Filmmaking

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - October 15, 2015) - B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of the new Filmmaking portal, part of the Explora blog, which provides industry news, product reviews, and educational resources geared toward students and aspiring filmmakers, as well as independent professionals. The launch of the portal coincides with the ongoing 2015 Filmmakers Master Class Sponsored by Canon USA, a 4-day intensive, hands-on workshop in which selected students have been working on creating original work from start to finish under the guidance of an industry professional.

Filmmaking Master Class students were divided into five different teams, led by the event’s featured filmmakers: Bruce Dorn, Vincent Laforet, Joe Simon, Eve Cohen, and Nino Leitner. With the latest Canon Cine and filmmaking gear at their disposal, thanks to B&H, Canon, NYFA, and other supporting sponsors, the students set to the streets of New York City and the studios and classrooms of New York Film Academy to produce their stories. The ultimate goal of the workshop is to not only produce a compelling short film, but for the students to gain real-world experience by learning how to work under a strict time line, and with a crew of people they’ve never worked with before. The final films will be screened at the AMC Loews 34th Street Theater from 7:00 to 10:00 PM, on Thursday, October 15, 2015.

In conjunction with the 2015 Filmmakers Master Class, B&H has released a dedicated Filmmaking portal as part of the Explora blog. The new portal offers a doorway to access original content written by experts and professionals in the field. In addition to the product announcements, news, and gear reviews you’d expect to find on Explora, the portal features in-depth educational articles and resources covering all areas of filmmaking, including camera selection, cinematic lighting, and post-production workflows. The Filmmaking portal launches with a handful of brand-new content, with new feature articles, news, and reviews planned to be added weekly.
