2015 World Class Special Olympians Are Treated to the World's Greatest Pizza® and an Awesome Dough-Nation

Shakey's Pizza Raises $25,000 for Special Olympic Athletes in the 2015 World Games

ALHAMBRA, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 27, 2015) - Shakey's Pizza restaurants of Southern California proudly support the 2015 Special Olympics World Games by raising over $25,000 to help fund Special Olympic athletes. In addition, Shakey's provided more than 100 athletes and their guests with the World's Greatest Pizza® upon their arrival to Southern California.

Shakey's restaurants raised nearly $10,000 in support funds through a month long fundraising effort. The restaurants supplemented the money raised with an additional $15,000 in dough-nations, enough to support eight athletes participation in the World Games.

On July 22, Shakey's in Rancho Cucamonga welcomed over one hundred delegates and their guests, treating them to Shakey's world famous pizza and Mojo® potatoes.

"It's so wonderful to have the opportunity to be a part of creating memories that will last a lifetime for the athletes!" said Lisa Fantacone, General Manager, Shakey's Rancho Cucamonga.

The athletes also took in a local Quakes baseball game in Ranch Cucamonga, CA, which is the official host city to delegates from Iceland, Cote d'Ivoire, Iraq and Seychelles.
