2016 Trapeze User Conference Focuses on Transit Trends and Issues

Trapeze Group Announces New Products and Additions to Leadership Team at 2016 User Conference

SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwired - April 04, 2016) - Trapeze Group North America kicked off the start of their 2016 User Conference today in San Antonio, Texas, which brings together over 400 attendees from over 120 different transit agencies across North America.

Trapeze Group NA's annual conference, which runs from April 3-6, 2016, is designed to discuss leading issues in the transit industry, share knowledge and best practices, as well as network and gain hands-on expertise using transit technology. This year's conference is hosted by VIA Metropolitan Transit and sponsored by Commuter Advertising, TSI Transit Solutions, SEON and Usability Matters.

The User Conference also announced an addition to the Trapeze Group NA leadership team. Beginning April 1st, Kevin Bade formerly General Manager of CourtView Justice Solutions was appointed General Manager of Trapeze Group NA.

John Hines will be Managing Director at Volaris Group, a Trapeze Group NA parent company.

"Kevin has more than 20 years of experience working in software and technology in both the transportation and justice fields. I've also had the pleasure of working with Kevin while at AssetWorks managing their EAM solution. This makes him the ideal candidate to take Trapeze North America to new heights," said John Hines, Managing Director, Volaris Group. "In his new role, Kevin will support Trapeze's continued growth and strengthen relationships with our customers who want innovative technology that improves passenger experience."

The key to improving passenger experience is by understanding the threats and opportunities in the transit landscape, which keynote speaker Greg Lindsay discussed during his keynote presentation on April 4th, 2016.

Greg Lindsay is a senior fellow of the New Cities Foundation where he leads the Connected Mobility Initiative, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council's Strategic Foresight Initiative and a visiting scholar at New York University's Rudin Center for Transportation Policy & Management.

The conference also addressed some of the key challenges and trends within the industry such as the importance of big data, TNC integrations for providers such as Uber and Lyft and the future of automated fare collection (AFC).

To support these trends and to help agencies stay ahead of the curve, Trapeze Group NA announced multiple new products such as their new and improved Business Intelligence solution, TNC integration and their new Vehicle Intelligence solution, to name a few.

Advances in modern fare collection was another hot topic of discussion at the conference - it was especially timely following Trapeze's recent feature on the Discovery Channel - Innovations with Ed Begley, Jr. "The focus and needs of transit agencies are shifting as technology evolves, Trapeze Group is committed to providing solutions and services that will meet the needs of our customers," said Kevin Bade, General Manager, Trapeze Group NA.
