20th Annual Accela User Conference Stresses 24/7 Connection to Citizens by Government

Hall of Famer Roger Staubach Shares Winning Strategies With Government Leaders

GARDEN GROVE, CA--(Marketwire - August 9, 2007) - Accela, Inc., the leading provider of government enterprise management software solutions, kicked off its 2007 User Conference last Monday by discussing ways governments can connect with their citizens through e-government 24/7.

City, state, and federal government leaders from 158 agencies in 29 states meet for four days to work on ways to serve their citizens better and find new ways to build and develop communities with the help of information technology.

On Wednesday morning attendees heard how Roger Staubach moved from a legendary football career to become executive chairman of one of the country's leading real estate and development businesses. Staubach's presentation at the Accela conference was sponsored by Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO), an Accela Certified Partner.

The Staubach Company, founded in 1977 while Staubach was still quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, is a global real estate advisory firm that works closely with the development community. With nearly 70 offices in North America and a global services joint venture that provides occupant representation services worldwide, The Staubach Company posted $450 million in revenue in 2006.

Accela's e-government software solutions support the efforts of the development community by automating land use activities such as permitting, inspections, and code enforcement.

In his presentation, Staubach stressed the importance of teamwork in helping companies gain and maintain a competitive edge, and how products like Accela's improve communications within public agencies and with the customers they serve.

In welcoming Staubach to the conference, recently appointed Accela President and CEO Maury Blackman applauded The Staubach Company for recognizing the tremendous value of connecting citizens and the business community to government services. This theme was one of the key messages of Blackman's keynote address on Monday, in which he characterized his vision for Accela as becoming the largest software company that makes government services available 24/7, with solutions that open up new and better ways for government to serve its citizens.

The Accela User Conference is the largest government automation conference of the year and brings together IT managers, department heads, GIS specialists, and other key government officials to meet and share strategies for implementing e-government solutions. Anchor sponsors include Avolve Software, Cisco Systems, Inc., Panasonic (Matsushita), RedMark Technologies, and TruePoint Solutions.

A concurrent event of the Accela User Conference, its annual CXO Summit, focused this year on exploring and highlighting some of the digital technologies that are now providing communities with robust, cutting-edge tools created to support governance in the 21st century. The summit, held on Monday, brought together a roster of leading technology and government experts to speak and participate in panel discussions. C-level government executives (CIOs, City Managers, CFOs, etc.) attended the summit.

This year's Accela User Conference celebrates the company's twentieth annual user conference. Product sessions are the mainstay of the four-day conference, and also on hand are Accela business partners and exhibitors that provide hardware, develop software applications, and deliver key consultation and implementation services for the public sector.

Monday's conference proceedings were capped with a welcome reception at Disney's California Adventure Park. The Accela User Conference runs through noon on Thursday, August 9. Next year's conference will be held August 4 - 7, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
