20th Annual East Coast Gaming Congress & i-Gaming Institute to Address Gaming Saturation in Northeast

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ--(Marketwired - Apr 4, 2016) -  The Northeast gaming market will soon have at least 65 casinos, with the potential for more in coming years. Can the market absorb so much capacity, and who will be the winners and losers in this crowded marketplace?

Those questions, and others related to the potential saturation of the Northeast market, will be addressed in a panel discussion at the 20th Annual East Coast Gaming Congress and i-Gaming Institute, to be held at Harrah's Resort here on May 25-26.

That panel, to be held on the morning of May 26, will be moderated by New Jersey State Senator James Whelan, D-Atlantic, a veteran lawmaker and former Atlantic City mayor who has observed the growth of gaming in the Northeast since its inception in 1978.

Panel Speakers:

  • Ed Bowers, Senior Vice President, Global Gaming Development, MGM Resorts International
  • Cedric Cromwell, Chairman, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts
  • Kevin C. Jones, President, Resorts World Massachusetts
  • Honorable Helene Keeley, Member, Delaware House of Representatives and President of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS)
  • Matthew Levinson, Chairman, New Jersey Casino Control Commission
  • Tom Pohlman, Vice President & General Manager, Golden Nugget Casino

"These knowledgeable speakers can identify both the issues and the opportunities that will emerge from this unprecedented expansion," said Michael Pollock, Managing Director of Spectrum Gaming Group, a co-organizer and co-founder of the annual event.

"As this is our 20th year, this panel touches a core theme of the East Coast Gaming Congress: How did we get where we are, and where do we go from here?" said Lloyd D. Levenson, CEO of the Cooper Levenson law firm, a co-organizer and co-founder of the event.

Other panel topics will range from the future of i-gaming and fantasy sports, to lotteries, retail gaming and gaming saturation. Highlights of the event will include keynote addresses from 12 CEOs of leading casino operators.

More than 600 gaming operators, equipment manufacturers, regulators, attorneys, architects, analysts, public officials, investors and other gaming-related professionals are expected to attend ECGC, which takes place at the spectacular new Waterfront Conference Center at Harrah's. The full conference schedule and registration is at www.ecgc.us. Early-bird registration savings will be offered.
