20th Annual Vermont Investors Forum Now Taking Applications From Promising New England-Based Companies Seeking Equity Capital

Early-Stage Growth Companies Have Until August 31 to Apply to Present to Angel and Institutional Investors at Nov. 7th Event at UVM

BURLINGTON, VT--(Marketwire - Jul 31, 2012) - The steering committee for the Vermont Investors Forum, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, today announced its annual "call for applications to present" to a select group of angel and institutional investors, including venture capital and private equity funds. This year's Forum is scheduled for November 7th, at the University of Vermont's Davis Center in Burlington.

New England-based early-stage growth companies seeking equity capital investment must submit their applications by August 31st to be considered for participation.

Over the years, the Vermont Investors Forum has proven itself to be one of the most effective ways for New England companies to raise capital. Companies such as Draker Laboratories, Patient Engagement Systems and SB Electronics secured their first significant investments as a result of participating in the Forum.

All company applications receive confidential review by the Forum's Steering Committee, which then selects the companies that go on to present on November 7th. The Steering Committee is comprised of 14 volunteers who are active and prominent members of Vermont's entrepreneurial and investment community. The Committee will provide feedback and coaching for the selected companies throughout the entire process.

While at the Forum, presenters will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with investors, entrepreneurs and other key funders or service providers. The agenda for the Forum allows for ten live presentations of 15 minutes each, including a Q&A period.

The fee for making a presentation is $195 for two company representatives, which includes a continental breakfast, coffee breaks and a luncheon with the keynote speaker. The presentation fee is due only after a company has been notified by the Committee that is has been selected. There is no fee for applying to present.
