International Purchasing Partnership With Groupe GO Sport and Hervis Sports Strengthens Market Position of Mannheim-Based Multichannel Sports Retailer


MANNHEIM, GERMANY and GENEVA, SWITZERLAND--(Marketwired - Jul 1, 2015) - 21sportsgroup is a newly enlisted member of the Geneva-based international purchasing cooperation STMI. The partnership with founding-members Groupe GO Sport and Hervis Sports, the sports retail subsidiaries of the CASINO Group and the SPAR Group, will do much to strengthen its market position, improve its buying terms, and widen its sporting goods product range. STMI was founded in 2012 and already generates more than EUR 2 billion in retail turnover.

Germany's 21sportsgroup is now the third member of the Sports Trade & Marketing International (STMI) purchasing cooperation after Spain's Forum Sport, and the Swiss Migros subsidiary SportXX. While the other members are more POS-oriented, the fast-growing Mannheim-based multichannel sports retailer will add not only 14 more premium retail outlets belonging to Planet Sports and L&S Lauf- & Sport Shop in Germany, but also various successful European online brands: 21run.com, 21streetwear.com, 21cycles.com and planet-sports.com.
