24hrs of Tremblant Commits $50,000 to Senators Foundation

Ski-o-thon to Take Place From Dec. 8 to 10, 2006

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 21, 2006) - The Ottawa Senators Foundation is pleased to announce it has been chosen as a beneficiary of the sixth annual 24hrs of Tremblant - a ski-o-thon fundraiser for the benefit of sick and needy children that takes place at Mont-Tremblant Resort from Dec. 8 to 10. The event, which has raised more than $1.9 million since its inception in 2000, has graciously committed $50,000 to the Senators foundation.

The Senators foundation announced that it will direct these funds to Roger's House and enter a six-person team into the December event. Two-time Olympic gold medallist and CTV-Ottawa sports anchor Carolyn Waldo has been chosen as the honorary Roger's House ski team captain.

A unique event, 24hrs of Tremblant consists of a friendly 24-hour relay race on the slopes of Mont-Tremblant in which team members take turns accumulating kilometres with the goal of raising money through sponsorships and donations. The event will also welcome spectators and party-goers as it hosts -- free of charge -- live outdoor shows, entertainment and contests in the pedestrian village.

The goal of 24hrs of Tremblant in 2006 will be to raise a total of $500,000. In addition to the Senators foundation, the organizing committee has also committed to raise funds in support of the Charles Bruneau Foundation ( and the Tremblant Foundation ( - both Quebec-based organizations focused on improving the lives of children.
