$29.1 Million Powerball Jackpot Won!

POWERBALL--(Marketwire - September 6, 2007) - One lucky ticket in Wisconsin matched all 6 numbers Wednesday evening and walked away with the $29.1 million jackpot. The holder of the winning tickets will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or take the one time cash "lump sum" amount of $13,678,094.

There were a total of 403,847 additional winning tickets in America's Game Wednesday evening. Those winners won prizes totaling $3,405,834.

The numbers drawn were 11, 20, 21, 30, 48 and the Powerball was 18. The Power Play multiplier was 2.

Three tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000. These tickets were sold in Oklahoma (1), Tennessee (1), and Wisconsin (1). One additional ticket in Pennsylvania not only matched all 5 white numbers, but also had the Power Play option multiplying the normal $200,000 prize by 2 for a total win of $400,000.

Eleven tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Four additional players not only matched 4+1, but also purchased the Power Play option for a total win of $20,000!

A total of 86,100 winning Powerball plays were multiplied by 2 Wednesday evening. Winners were able to do so by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot, from 2 to 5 times. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

Players purchased $17,407,551 in tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The jackpot for Saturday, September 8th will be $15 million.

The lotteries sold more than $2.5 billion in Powerball tickets in FY07. That translates into more than $725 million for worthwhile state projects.

Powerball is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
