Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, City Editor, Environment Editor, News Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, PRESS RELEASE--(Marketwire - May 1, 2008) - ONESTOP Media Group and its community art-programming partner Art for Commuters are holding their 2nd annual photography exhibition, Contacting Toronto, on ONESTOP's Toronto Transit Commission Network, as a part of CONTACT, Toronto's premier annual photography festival.

"Contacting Toronto" will showcase a total of 62 photographic stories in 31 days to over 1 million people weekly. Sharon Switzer, the show's curator, and Director of Art for Commuters, selected the work from over 120 photo submissions relating to the theme: "Memories for the City". The selections take place on the streets of Toronto and range from amusing stories to more formal visual play. The exhibition's slideshow format creates a sense of time with just a few stills.

Michael Girgis, President of ONESTOP Media Group says, "As a growing distribution channel for the arts community, we are very proud to once again support the CONTACT festival. We are excited to enrich the commuter experience with more arts and cultural programming."

Curator Sharon Switzer adds "The amount and range of work we received this year was remarkable. It seems that everyone from professional photographers to amateurs with a love of the city were excited to take part in this exhibition on the TTC. I'm sure the show will have commuters missing a train or two."

"Memories for the City" will occur on over 250 platform screens in over 40 stations throughout the TTC as a part of the CONTACT photography festival. The exhibit will air once every ten minutes and features 2 different photographers a day, in 30 second blocks of time. The top 3 exhibition photo-slide shows receive gift certificates from Toronto Image Works and are as follows:
1st Prize Winner (worth $1,000) - Chris Shepherd for 'Vacancies' ;
2nd Prize Winner (worth $300) - Peter Mason for 'Trinity Bellwoods' 3rd Prize Winner (worth $100) - Alexa Clark for 'What's Keeping Us Moving'

An exhibition schedule of all selections, including the 3 prize winners, is posted on the website. The site will also feature the photographs after they debut on the TTC.
