2nd Watch Announces Cloud Factory Service, Guarantees $2K/Server Migrations

AWS Workload Management Company Puts a Stake in the Ground on Price and Reliability With New Offering That Includes Analysis, Preparation and Deployment for Enterprise Clients Moving to the AWS Cloud

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Nov 11, 2014) - 2nd Watch announces Cloud Factory, a unique combination of cloud workload management services for companies transitioning to Amazon Web Services (AWS) from traditional on-premises data center environments. Available now, Cloud Factory unites planning, preparation, deployment services, and technologies into a single integrated offering that provides customers with previously unavailable cost and outcome certainty as they move data and business-critical applications to the cloud. Leveraging years of experience delivering public cloud migration services, 2nd Watch is now guaranteeing $2,000 per server deployments for Cloud Factory customers based on a minimum of 200 servers. Typical migrations can be completed in as quickly as six weeks, well below the industry average.

"We're always looking for ways to bring greater value to our customers, and time and again we hear that companies want to move faster yet still meet expectations for a successful transition," says Doug Schneider, CEO at 2nd Watch. "Cloud Factory combines highly skilled consulting services with the latest technology tools to ensure a reliable cost structure for planning and implementation. We believe Cloud Factory will set a new standard for smoothly migrating business-line workloads to the cloud."

"2nd Watch has extensive experience helping many large customers migrate enterprise workloads to the AWS Cloud," said Terry Wise, Director of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "We are excited to see 2nd Watch launch their new Cloud Factory service which accelerates migrations to AWS and the time to value for customers."

Cloud Factory consists of three components: Analyze, Automate and Deploy. In the Analyze phase, 2nd Watch performs a thorough inventory of all workloads and infrastructures. In the Automate phase, the firm performs preparatory activities such as design, testing, and determining workflow dependencies. Finally, in the Deploy phase, 2nd Watch develops the migration schedule, launch configurations and production deployment. The new process delivers speed of deployment at low costs due to proven best practices, proprietary software and many years' experience. 2nd Watch has been designated as a Premier Consulting Partner by AWS and currently has over 60,000 Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances under management.
