30 Days of Sustainability: BC Climate Action Secretariat, Offsetters.ca and MK Jaccard and Associates Representatives Explain The Carbon Tax on May 12

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 8, 2008) - Panelists Graham Whitmarsh, Head, BC Climate Action Secretariat, James Tansey, CEO and Co-founder of Offsetters.ca, Jotham Peters, Consultant, MK Jaccard and Associates, SFU School of Resource and Environmental Management take part in 30 Days of Sustainability's "Carbon Tax Explained" Cafe. Kevin Washbrook of Voters Taking Action on Climate Change (www.vtacc.org) will moderate this panel.

Graham Whitmarsh joined the BC Public Service as Chief Advisor for Carbon Trading in April of 2007. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed the Head of the Climate Action Secretariat following an extensive public competition. As Head of the Climate Action Secretariat, Graham's responsibilities are critical to achieving the Province's aggressive targets of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 33 percent by 2020 and making the government of British Columbia carbon neutral by 2010.
