To protest the killing of several people and arrest of over four hundred monks of Kirti Monastery, Tibet, after Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent armed military forces to impose a massive security crackdown in Kirti Monastery and other Tibetan areas, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Toronto has started a Rally hunger strike at Chinese Consulate Toronto since April 19, 2011. On the eve of 30thday of Tibetan Rally Hunger Strike at Chinese Consulate, Toronto, a special prayer ceremony was held this morning at the site.

Addressing the participants of Rally Hunger Strike, Mr. Kunga Tsering former Member of Tibetan Parliament-in-exile said"China's Tibet distraction has become useful for the Chinese Communist Party to stoke Chinese nationalism and thus bolster the party's legitimacy. Facing the collapse of communist ideology, the CCP is increasingly dependent on its nationalist credentials to rule. In order to shore up public support for its right to rule, the CCP is portraying the Tibet protests as anti-China". Mr. Kunga urged the Canadian Government to prevail upon China to call off the "Patriotic Re-education" campaign and stop ongoing killings, arrests, disappearances and torture of innocent people in Tibet.

Mr. Thupten Wangyal, former President of CTAO condemned the CCP's action on Kirti Monastery and appealed to international community to invoke their conscience and speak up against the barbaric actions of Chinese communist regime. Mr. Jampa Chonden, President of RTYC appealed to all Tibetan community living in the free world to rise up on the occasion and organise similar activities to expose the true face of CCP. Tsering Tsomo, Vice-President of RTWA, Toronto thanked the participants of the Rally and supported the initiative

The participants of the Rally, in a signed petition, requested Canadian Prime Minister to influence on CCP to initiate a peace process. Meanwhile, physical condition of 3 Executive members of TYC, who are on FAST UNTO DEATH since April 25 in Delhi India (now entering its 23rd day) is deteriorating and yet they are determined to die for the cause.
