32nd Apprehension of a "Wanted by the CBSA" Individual


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 19, 2012) - The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the apprehension of Giorgio Cote, whose profile was added to the "Wanted by the CBSA" list on May 16, 2012.

Giorgio Cote was apprehended on October 16 in Toronto by the Immigration Task Force, a joint forces operations team made up of officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the CBSA. The Task Force worked closely with the Niagara Falls Integrated Border Enforcement Team, which is made up of key law enforcement partners from Canada, including the RCMP and the CBSA, and the United States. Cote is inadmissible to Canada due to organized criminality. He is currently being detained by the CBSA.

To date, as a result of the "Wanted by the CBSA" program, Canadians have assisted in locating 32 individuals in Canada. The CBSA has removed 20 of these individuals from Canada. Additionally, five individuals were located abroad.

Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the CBSA Web site. Any information on the whereabouts of these wanted individuals should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Toll-free Line at 1-888-502-9060.
