The 340B Prime Vendor Program Adds Wyeth Pharmaceuticals' PROTONIX® to Its Growing List of Branded Drugs for Participants

IRVING, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 12, 2007 -- The 340B Prime Vendor Program, managed by HealthCare Purchasing Partners International® (HPPI) announced today that it has added Wyeth Pharmaceuticals to its list of contracted suppliers and will extend sub-ceiling discounts on PROTONIX® delayed-release tablets to participants of the program. PROTONIX is a proton pump inhibitor indicated for the treatment and maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis with associated gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms.

The Prime Vendor's role is to secure sub-ceiling discounts on outpatient drug purchases and discounts on other pharmacy-related products and services for participating public hospitals, community health centers, and other safety-net health care providers electing to join the program.

Wyeth has agreed to provide Protonix® tablets to 340B Prime Vendor Program participants at a discounted price. "We are very pleased to add Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as a new major branded manufacturer participating in the program. We look forward to a partnership that will improve access to Wyeth's products such as Protonix®, within the safety-net community," said Chris Hatwig, senior director of the 340B Prime Vendor Program.
