360training and National Environmental Health Association Launch Approved Online Food Safety Training in Illinois and Ohio

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 9, 2006 -- With E.Coli outbreaks creating new levels of attention and demand for food safety, 360training today announced the approval of the National Environmental Health Association Training's (NEHA Training) online food manager and certification course in Ohio and Illinois.

NEHA Training is a partnership between the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and Chadwick House Group Limited, the London based subsidiary of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). Together, NEHA and CIEH have nearly 200 years of experience educating inspectors of food establishments; thus few organizations are better qualified to establish standards for registered food safety trainers, and develop effective learning materials.

As the exclusive e-learning partner to NEHA Training for food safety education, 360training released an interactive e-learning program based on the NEHA Food Safety Management Principles book. The self-paced e-learning program will be offered to organizations through, and selected training partners of 360training and NEHA Training.

Recently approved by the Ohio Department of Health and the Illinois Department of Public Health, the online course satisfies the states mandatory training requirements required as a condition of certification along with successful completion of an approved certification examination.

"Without a question, safety in the food industry is a serious matter. We hope that by offering the NEHA food manager training and certification online to food businesses in Ohio and Illinois, we will aid in furthering attention to the importance of establishing a training presence in the food industry," said Bill Vear, V.P. of Public Safety Training, the Learn2Serve division of 360training.

"With new and more virulent pathogens threatening our foods, we must do whatever is necessary to make the food supply safer than ever before," said Dr. John R. Lumpkin, Director of Public Health in Illinois.

"We have been working hard in creating awareness and solidifying importance to food safety training; we have achieved that presence in most of the states and we are now thrilled to be offering accredited food safety training online to Illinois and Ohio," Vear added.

The course, now available online at 360training's Learn2Serve food and alcohol beverage training portal covers critical topics such as food hazards, foodborne illness, foodborne illness prevention and food safety control.
