3M and IQMax Partner to Deliver New Mobile Solutions

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - November 18, 2010) - 3M Health Information Systems and IQMax have expanded their strategic agreement to develop new mobile solutions that improve physician workflow, streamline revenue cycle processes, and provide instant access to critical information to support patient care. The agreement will bring increased value to physicians with advanced mobile applications that help them capture more accurate and complete charges, and meet complex documentation requirements under ICD-10. The new 3M branded mobile solutions will be available on leading mobile device platforms including the iPad®, iPhone®, Android, BlackBerry®, and Windows Mobile®.

The expanded agreement will enable 3M to leverage its core strengths in coding, documentation improvement, and data standardization to create powerful new tools using IQMax's mobile healthcare platform, an "open" platform that is highly scalable, easily deployed, and enhanced with a full range of security features that fulfill HIPAA and hospital-specific guidelines for encryption and authentication.

"Smartphones and mobile devices have become an integral part of providing patient care because they allow physicians to access and respond to patient information at any time and from any location," said JaeLynn Williams, senior vice president for 3M Health Information Systems. "IQMax's robust platform combined with 3M's content expertise allows us to develop innovative technologies to help the physician."

3M Health Information Systems previously announced the release of 3MMobile Dictation Software, an advanced physician dictation application built on the IQMax platform and available on leading mobile devices. Using 3M Mobile Dictation, physicians can dictate notes, view patient lists, and display current patient information, all on the smartphone screen. An in-depth look at the software's time-saving features is available in an auto-demo of 3M Mobile Dictation.

"IQMax is pleased to expand its agreement with a leading healthcare company like 3M Health Information Systems. The result will be new software solutions that increase physician satisfaction, improve revenue cycle management, and enhance patient care," said Paul Adkison, founder and CEO of IQMax.

The new mobile solutions to be developed by 3M Health Information Systems and IQMax will be available in an enterprise or Software as a Service (SaaS) environment, meeting the diverse needs of large healthcare systems or small clinics.
