4-Star Hotel in Pune Supports Daan Utsav With a Series of Philanthropic Events

PUNE, INDIA--(Marketwired - Oct 17, 2014) - Courtyard Pune City Centre celebrated Daan Utsav, previously known as the "Joy of Giving" Week, from October 2^nd through October 9^th 2014. The festival saw both guests and associates participate whole-heatedly in and support the hotel in acts of philanthropy throughout the week.

On 6^th October, this business hotel in Pune participated in 'Make like a Chef', where Chefs from all the Marriott Pune properties taught four different healthy snacks to youth from IDEA Foundation and also talked about the job opportunities at Marriott hotels.

On 8^th October, the Junior Sous Chef Akhilesh from Courtyard Pune City Centre visited the Hope for Children Foundation Centre and taught the women from their kitchen team to prepare simple, home-style and tasty dishes. This demo helped the ladies to improve their cooking skills which will help them increase their small but budding lunch catering business for corporates. 

On 9^th October, the associates at this Pune hotel donated blood for the blood bank of its neighbour -- Jehangir Hospital on Bund Garden Road.

Throughout the week of Daan Utsav, a Wish Tree was placed in the lobby of the hotel along with a 'Wishing Well' where guests and associates donated donate clothes, books and toys. Funds raised through these efforts will be donated to Hope for Children Foundation.
