This season the Festival celebrates its 45th anniversary back where it all began on the shores of Lake Couchiching in Orilla, Ontario.

This year's Festival, July 8 to 10, at Tudhope Park in Orilla, features over 100 of the top entertainers in folk music including Gordon Lightfoot, Sarah Harmer, Murray McLauchlan, Lynn Miles, Fred Eaglesmith, Aimee Leonard to name just a few.

This is the second year UFCW Canada has sponsored the family-friendly Festival. According to UFCW Canada's national director Michael Fraser "the shared history of folk music and the trade union movement is what attracted us to Mariposa. It's also a way for us to give back to the community where many of our members live and work."

UFCW Canada is one of Canada's largest private sector unions with ove 230,000 members across Canada, including more than 40,000 members in Ontario working at Loblaws, PharmaPlus, Zehrs, Food Basics, No Frills, The Beer Store and many other companies in the food, warehousing, service, and hospitality industries.

As well as sponsoring the main performance stages at Mariposa, UFCW Canada is also sponsor of the Folkplay area where parents and children can participate in music making, arts & crafts, dance, and storytelling; Alice's Patio, a patio performance area; and an open stage for amateur and up-and-coming folk musicians.
