4951 Films LLC Is Holding a Film Competition: The "Get Paid to Get Paid Film Competition"

MINNEAPOLIS MN--(Marketwire - March 15, 2011) - 4951 Films is a film production company based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Last year they introduced an online film distribution service called Webetheater, which uses video on demand technology to allow people to watch films on their computers. Customers pay the current "ticket price" and are given access to film for 24 hours. This service was designed to give independent filmmakers viable options to make a return on their films outside of the regular film festival circuit. It has the added incentive of allowing filmmakers to keep a majority of the film sales, unlike iTunes and to name a few.

Building on the service's success, 4951 Films wants to expand its library of films and so is holding a contest to get more filmmakers on board. Webetheater is very open to film formats, so a film of any length, genre, etc. is permitted. Also, since it is free to add a film to the website, filmmakers who have marketed their films can see a quick return on investment instead of waiting to be in the lucky less than 1% that get into festivals like Sundance and Cannes each year.

Here are the contest details:

Qualified filmmakers who submit their films to be considered for Webetheater between now and May 5th will be entered for a chance to be paid to put their film on in addition to keeping a majority of their actual ticket sales!
