4th Annual GSIFF International Film Festival Announces Winners

Winners of the GSIFF 2010 International Film Festival Were Announced at the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, With "Just Between Us" by Rajko Grlic Taking the Top Prize

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 18, 2010) -  The 4th Annual GSIFF International Film Festival drew to a close yesterday after eleven days of screenings and events in the Tribeca area in New York. Film competition and screenplay contest winners were announced at the awards brunch for filmmakers, industry and press.

Festival director Michael Gunther said of the event, "We're very proud of this year's program, which brought two world and five US premieres to New York, with films as diverse as cult indie 'She Wolf Rising' and Jean-Luc Godard's latest, 'Film Socialisme.' We saw a tremendous growth of the GSIFF festival, both in creative quality and audience attendance, which we hope to continue next year."

Co-programmer Richard Hooban said of the Jury's decision, "While the festival's line-up was extremely diverse and I was allowed risks to bring unique films to New York audiences, the Festival Jury's choices award a set of great films that deserve to find a wider audience."

Highlights of the festival included the world premiere of Philip K. Dick Adaptation "Radio Free Albemuth," Swiss/Macedonian co-production "The War Is Over" and Juan Carlos Valdivia's "Southern District (Zona Sur)."

The 2011 GSIFF festival will run again in October next year.
