5 Million Cats and Dogs Registered with 24PetWatch Lost Pet Recovery Service

Leading Provider of Companion Animal Microchip Technology Seeks to Create a Culture of Comprehensive Pet Identification

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 15, 2011) - Pethealth Inc. ("Pethealth" or the "Company") (TSX:PTZ), the nation's leading provider of companion animal microchips to North American pet owners, is pleased to announce over 5-million cats and dogs have received the protection of a registered microchip in the 24PetWatch Lost Pet Recovery database. Since May 2009 the database has more than doubled in size, driven largely by the Company's growing platform within the animal welfare community through which it promotes, amongst other things, a program offering comprehensive pet identification, including microchips, external ID tags, universal scanners, and robust database management supported by 24/7/365 call centre services.

Nearly 5,300 animal welfare organizations, veterinary clinics, and breeders combined in the United States and Canada purchase the Company's 24PetWatch microchips. Pethealth provides free registration for each microchip and associated pet owner information at the point of implantation through its cloud-based software applications which process nearly 80,000 new pet registrations each month.

In addition to offering free registration, the Company has long been committed to providing low-cost microchip technology to its partner organizations in animal welfare. This is evidenced by the fact that, adjusted for inflation, the price for microchips it charges to animal welfare organizations and veterinary clinics using its software applications is less now than it was when the Company first entered the market in 2003.

"The animal shelter and rescue community is at the hub of the lost and found pet cycle," says Robert Scriban, Assistant Director of North American Call Centre Operations at Pethealth Inc. "By integrating the 24PetWatch microchip program into the adoption process we are not only improving the odds of a safe recovery for newly adopted pets but also reducing the number of homeless pets in shelters. Pets with registered microchip IDs will quickly make it home while making way for other lost or homeless pets in need, and as every member of the animal welfare community knows, there is always another pet waiting for valuable space."

24PetWatch Lost Pet Recovery services are supported by an in-house call centre operated around the clock 365 days of the year. Of an average 40,000 inbound calls handled by Lost Pet Recovery Specialists per month, approximately 40% of those are related to lost and found pets. The remaining calls involve registrations and the purchase of annual and lifetime maintenance packages by subscribers.

"Time and again, in the news and in our own call centre, we have seen the value of microchip ID for lost pet recovery," says Mark Warren, President and CEO of Pethealth Inc. "We see these 5-million pets registered with 24Petwatch as a milestone not only for ourselves and the Company, but also for the members of the animal welfare community who work diligently to ensure the pets they place in adoptive homes live in safety."

For subscribers to the Company's maintenance services, Pethealth has begun introducing such value-added products as the Petango Prescription Discount Card, offering savings of up to 55% off select prescription medications for both people and pets. The card is eligible at over 62,000 pharmacies across the United States, including Costco, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and CVS, where up to 30% of a family pet's prescription needs can be fulfilled. Subscribers in the United States also receive discount offers at ThePetangoStore.com, an online pet pharmacy and pet specialty supply store where up to 10% of every sale is donated back to shelters to help homeless pets.
