Vinbert Anthony Samuels arrested in the GTA


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 7, 2014) - Canada Border Services Agency

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the arrest of Vinbert Anthony Samuels. Samuels, who was posted on the Wanted by the CBSA Web site, was arrested in the Greater Toronto Area on February 6, 2014. The Wanted by the CBSA program, established in 2011, was created to enlist the help of Canadians in locating individuals ordered removed from Canada who had hidden their whereabouts from the CBSA.

  • Samuels was arrested in Toronto by the Toronto Immigration Task Force (ITF).
  • Samuels is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality for being convicted of robbery. Additionally, he has been convicted of possession of property obtained by crime, use of credit card obtained by the commission of an offence, and personation with intent.
  • The Toronto ITF is a joint forces operation comprising personnel from the CBSA and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who work together to apprehend high-risk migrant fugitives.
  • To date, as a result of the Wanted by the CBSA program, Canadians have assisted in locating 52 individuals in Canada, of which 42 have been removed. Additionally, 14 other individuals were located abroad.

Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the CBSA Web site. Any information on the whereabouts of these wanted individuals should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Toll-free Line at 1-888-502-9060.
