5G Wireless Brings Campus-Wide Wi-Fi to Denison University

Deployment to Be Complete in Time for Fall 2006 School Semester; Students, Faculty, Staff and Guests Now Can Access the Internet Anywhere on Campus

MARINA DEL REY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 2, 2006 -- 5G Wireless Communications Inc. (OTC BB: FGWI), a leader in the wireless broadband industry, today announced that it will provide the infrastructure for campus-wide Wi-Fi for all residents, members and guests of Denison University in Granville, OH. 5G Wireless will begin the installation process early May and is expected to fully complete deployment by July 2006.

"The 5G Wireless selection came about after a six-month study conducted by Denison University of various technologies and solutions providers nationwide," states Lisa Bazley, Director of Computing Services for Denison University. 5G Wireless will utilize its unique "cellular-style" Wi-Fi base stations to provide secure, high-speed, 24-hour Internet access in both indoor and outdoor throughout the sprawling 1,000 acre campus.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide our products and installation services to such a prestigious university," says Jerry Dix, CEO of 5G Wireless. "We are committed to the success of this deployment and look forward to adding Denison University to our list of Wi-Fi enabled higher education institutions. The new wireless network will help to enhance the education of students by offering a seamless connection for research and other educational resources anywhere and anytime."

Denison is one of the many universities in the US striving to improve campus development through technological enhancements. The campus, already well-equipped with fiber access to the Internet and to Internet 2 (the academic supercomputing network) and numerous computer labs and fully hard-wired classrooms and residence halls, will now be able to provide students and other campus visitors with an easy and efficient way to stay connected without having to plug into a wired network.

"5G Wireless was the premier choice for our university. Its expertise in the wireless industry utilizing the latest developments in Wi-Fi along with its commitment for ongoing support services to Denison were important factors in the selection process," says Ms. Bazley. "Campus-wide Wi-Fi opens doors of opportunity for everyone at Denison. The ability to sit outside on a bench on our beautiful campus or on a bunk in a dorm room untethered to the wall and surf the Net, chat with friends, process Denison e-mail or access the wealth of online academic resources is a convenience we will all appreciate."

According to a 2005 study by The Campus Computing Project, the largest continuing study of the role of information technology in American higher education, campuses nationwide are showing continuing improvements with IT budgets, which include the financing of Wi-Fi implementation. Also, private colleges and universities seemed to do a bit better with IT budgets than their public counterparts: fully half (50.0 percent) of private universities report increased funding for academic computing 2005, compared to 40.0 percent of public universities. Furthermore, more than half (53.2 percent) the private four-year colleges report increased funds for academic computing this year, compared to two-fifths (38.2 percent) of public four-year colleges.

5G Wireless uses its new cellular-style Wi-Fi base stations to create a broad service area with non-line-of-sight (NLOS) capabilities. These enhancements are compatible with standard IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi equipment. The 5G Wi-Fi Hotzones™ function through macro-cell base stations deployed from tall towers and the tops of tall buildings, while dead spots are filled in with smaller micro cells following the proven deployment strategy used today by the cellular carriers. This type of structural design allows for a well-tailored combination of cells resulting in the ability to add higher capacity where and when needed. 5G Wireless Base Stations have the advantage of multiple usage and varying functionalities for both the private and public sectors, including governance and administration for government departments, security and intelligence purposes, and educational uses, as well as for the management of data by businesses and companies.
