6th Annual Bob Marley Birthday Fundraiser for Yonge St Mission

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 19, 2011) - International music star Bob Marley would have been celebrating his 66th birthday on February 6th, 2011, had he not succumbed to cancer 30 years ago. To honour his musical legacy and tremendous concern for supporting local communities, REVOLUCION presents the 6th Annual Bob Marley Birthday Tribute Weekend: a special cast of Toronto musicians, DJs and MCs, celebrating Bob Marley's legacy of music, peace and love during Black History month. This spectacular series of concerts has raised over 2 tons of food for charities including: the Daily Bread Food Bank, Serving Charity, and Ernestine's Women's Shelter.

The tribute concerts, hosted by award-winning artist Miles Jones, will be held at The Annex Wreckroom (794 Bathurst St) on February 4th and February 6th with doors opening at 9:30pm. All guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items in support of the Yonge St. Mission Food Bank.

The February 4th show will feature performances from such noted reggae artists as Bob Marley contemporary Willi Williams, 2-time JUNO Award winner Blessed, Truth and Rights, Tréson, Kaesun, I-Sax InJAH, Tonya P, DJ Carl Allen, O'Niel Fuller and Alex Hendricks.

The February 6th show will feature performances from a number of talented musicians including R'n B Global sensation Shalli, DJ Tasha Rosez, and many more.

Tickets for the February 4th fundraiser are $10 ($7 for students with ID) with a food donation, or $15 without. Tickets for the February 6th fundraiser are $7 with a food donation, or $10 without. They are available in person at Soundscapes (572 College St) or online at www.ticketweb.ca.
