7,000 Cyclists to Make Their Mark on MS

30th Anniversary City to Shore Ride Could Hit $50 Million

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - September 22, 2010) -

WHAT: The 30th anniversary Bike MS: City to Shore Ride, presented by the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. 

WHO: 7,000 cyclists and 1,200 volunteers from across the Greater Delaware Valley and 33 states will gather to help create a world free of multiple sclerosis. With routes from 25 to 175 miles, there's something for every level of conditioning.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, September 25 & 26. The 75-mile route kicks off at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, the 25-mile route at 8:30 a.m. and the 45-mile route at 10:30 a.m.

Cyclists will return to the Cherry Hill start on Sunday for a final finish line celebration from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Main starting location: PATCO's Woodcrest Station in Cherry Hill, NJ (Exit 31 off Route 295). Cyclists ride to the Ocean City Civic Center on Saturday, where they enjoy a post-ride celebration. Two-day cyclists complete a return trip for the final finish line celebration at the PATCO-Woodcrest Station on Sunday.

NOTE: Arrive early to miss the rush. Traffic will start backing up in Cherry Hill by 5:30 a.m.

WHY: On September 25 & 26, 7,000 cyclists will be united in a single goal: creating a world free of MS. Now more than ever, the funds raised through Bike MS are critical to supporting vital services, programs and research for 13,000 local people living with multiple sclerosis. On the 30th anniversary of the ride, we are poised to hit $50 million in overall fundraising for this event, a remarkable sum that has done so much good for so many people.
